Portable charging to half a million UK festival-goers!

No more phone hassle, portable charging from Volt enters the UK festival scene this summer.

We all know it, running out of power on your phone and being unable to connect with friends suck and it is even worse when attending a festival. Waiting hours for your phone to charge at traditional charging facilities is probably not how you would like to spend your festival either. But luckily these days are over, now also for UK festival-goers. Volt’s charging service will be present at seven of UK’s largest festivals making Volt available to more than half a million visitors across UK this summer.

- We are very happy to introduce Volt’s phone charging service to our crowd. Their powerful portable chargers will enable our festival-goers to truly enjoy Isle of Wight and share their festival experiences, says Caroline Giddings, Commercial Director, Isle of Wight Festival.

This year, the phone charging service from Volt will be available in UK at: Isle of Wight, Download, T in the Park, Latitude, Reading & Leeds festivals, Boardmasters and Sonisphere festivals. Based on the success in 2013 in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland, Volt saw that most festival-goers bring smartphones to use the festival app, updating Facebook and sharing pictures on Instagram. All digital activities that are essential to the festival experience.

- Last year we got very positive feedback on our new way of charging phones at festivals. This year, we are very excited to help the UK festival crowd to stay connected and charge their phones on the go, comments Tobias Aabye Dam, CEO at Volt.

In 2013 the Volt charging service was present at 19 festivals, making Volt the biggest charging service of its kind. In 2014 more than 30 festivals will make Volt’s innovative solution available to their customers.

- It surprised us how huge the interest was for our charging service. Due to the increasing demand for our portable chargers, we recommend that festival-goers book in advance, concludes Tobias.

If you are going to one of the UK festivals this year, you can pre-book your Volt Charger at a reduced online price.

How it works: The portable charger from Volt comes with custom-made short cables for all phones, so the festival-goer do not have to bring anything. When in need of more power, one simply drop by the Volt charging station and swap the empty charger to a new fully charged. See Volt in action: http://vimeo.com/92920760
