On shift you stand behind the counter in our booth helping guests with power banks, charging and lockers – with a team that has your back. After that, the rest of the festival is yours: concerts, the camp and long nights with your friends.

Good to know before you apply
Take a moment to read the questions below before you send your application. Then you will know how to apply, what the role involves and what you get in return.
What do I get for volunteering?
As a Volt volunteer you get solid experience from the event and festival industry – the kind that looks good on any CV. You also become part of a great community of like-minded people who share your passion for festivals and events.
On top of that you get a wristband with free access to the festival, a food voucher for every shift, free snacks and drinks during your shifts, a Volt charger with service during the festival and a truly unforgettable experience. You also get a discount on some of our other services, e.g. Soundbox battery swap.
And who knows? Your first festival as a Volt volunteer could easily be the start of something more. If you enjoy it at Volt and want more responsibility, you will get the chance to grow. Maybe you are one of our future Team Leaders or Area Managers?
Which festivals can I volunteer at?
You can see all the festivals we are looking for volunteers for in the list further up the page – with dates, age requirements, shifts and status.
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
As a rule, you must be 18 or older to volunteer with Volt. The only exception is Roskilde Festival, where we have a special team for volunteers under 18.
What do I do as a volunteer?
Mostly customer service: you hand out chargers, swap batteries and help guests with lockers. Some teams handle build-up and take-down (Build and Break), and others walk around the site selling chargers (Powerstarter). There is always a Team Leader on shift with you.
Can I volunteer if I receive unemployment benefits, early retirement pay or similar?
It depends on the rules that apply to you. Check with your unemployment fund or union before you apply.

Good to know before the festival
Don't worry – if you get a spot as a volunteer, we will email you all the important info before the festival starts. Until then, you can find answers here.
Why do I have to pay a deposit?
To confirm your spot, you pay a deposit of DKK 600 in the volunteer portal. You get the money back after the festival once you have worked all your shifts. The deadline for paying is usually 14 days after you receive the offer – close to the festival it can be shorter.
How do I book my shifts?
Shift booking opens up to three weeks before the festival, and it is first come, first served. You will get an email at least 24 hours before it opens. At most festivals you choose a shift package. If you want to work with a friend, choose the same package and the same location. Once your shifts are approved, they cannot be changed.
Where and when do I pick up my wristband?
Usually close to the festival site in the week before the festival.
Where can I sleep during the festival?
Most festivals have a volunteer camp where it is quiet. At some festivals it has to be booked separately. You can also stay at the regular campsite. You need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag and camping gear.
What should I pack?
Good shoes and clothes for all kinds of weather: layers, a warm jumper, rain gear and sunscreen. You get your Volt T-shirt on your first shift.
How do I cancel as a volunteer?
Email volunteer@getvolt.dk as soon as possible. If you cancel more than a month before the festival starts, you get your deposit back. If you are on a team with shifts before the festival, e.g. Build, the deadline is one month before your first shift.

Good to know during the festival
Illness, food, clothing and all the practical stuff while you are on site.
What do I do if I get sick?
Call +45 92 90 24 82 before your shift starts – we do not accept sick calls by email or text. If you are too sick to work, you are also too sick to stay on the site. Cut your wristband and send a photo of the cut wristband showing the chip number before the deadline you are given on the phone. If you feel better again, call us – whether you can get new shifts depends on what is available.
What happens if I don't show up?
If you do not show up, arrive late, call in sick after your shift has started or do not send the photo of your wristband in time, it counts as a no-show. That can mean a fee, losing your wristband and not being able to volunteer with us again.

What should I wear?
You get a yellow Volt T-shirt on your first shift, and you wear it when you work. On site you can recognise us by colour: volunteers wear yellow, Team Leaders black, Area Managers green, production brown and the office beige.
What about food?
You get a food voucher per shift plus snacks and drinks while you are on shift. Feel free to bring a packed lunch – the food stalls can be far away and the queues long.

Good to know after the festival
The festival may be over, but there are still a few things worth knowing. If you can't find the answer, write to us – we are always happy to help.
When do I get my deposit back?
You get your deposit back after your last festival if you have worked all your shifts. We send an email when the refunds start, and it can take up to 10 banking days before the money is in your account. If it has not arrived by then, email volunteer@getvolt.dk. If you missed shifts due to illness, you will not get your deposit back.

Can I volunteer again next year?
Yes! Email volunteer@getvolt.dk and we will put you on the list for the next application round.
