What to expect as a Volt volunteer

Volunteering at Volt is unique. It’s a community of festival lovers who return to share the vibe, make memories, and reunite with friends from across the country.

You will assist guest at lockers and cool lockers. The process is easy the guest rent items, pick them up at our stalls, swap them as needed, and return them when the festival ends.

Dont worry you dont need any experience, we'll teach you all of it at the festival! <3

if you've been to a festival before, that's definitely a plus but if not, don't worry. We'll help you answer all your questions <3

Most importantly, you're someone who bounces back after a night out, whether that means waking up fresh or simply powering through with style. You're reliable, always showing up a few minutes early, and ready to go.

We also hope that you love the festival atmosphere and want to share it with us and all our customers.

Still got questions?

Don't worry we got you, it's not our first rodeo 😉

Go to volunteer.getvolt.dk and create a profile. Once you've created your profile, a pop-up will appear with a 'Waitlist'. It's important that you accept this by clicking 'confirm' in the bottom right corner.

If you're signing up with friends: you each need to create your own individual profile as they are personal. It's a good idea to do it at the same time so you end up next to each other on the waitlist – this increases your chances of getting shifts together. Accepting the waitlist is an essential step, as we won't receive your application otherwise.

When? Booking opens no later than 3 weeks before the festival. Once your festival has announced the full music programme with set times, you'll receive an email where you can select your shifts. You'll get a heads-up by email at least 24 hours before we open shift booking so you can be ready to book the package that suits you best. Booking is first come, first served.

How? A package solution you choose yourself on volunteer.getvolt.dk. All shifts are divided into shift packages. You choose from available packages. You cannot swap shifts. You can book the same shift package and location as your friend so you can work together. If you're more than 3 friends, we recommend splitting into groups and choosing the same package in different locations – that way you work and have time off at the same time.

The deposit is our guarantee that you'll show up for your shifts. The deposit is refunded after the festival if you attended all your shifts. You can cancel and get your deposit back up to one month before the festival. Cancellations must be sent to volunteer@getvolt.dk.

More information about this will be sent by email as we get closer to the festival.

The little things important details!

Yes. You need to bring your own tent, sleeping mat, and similar gear.

For your shift, you'll be given a Volt t-shirt and cap/bucket hat to wear. For everything else, find inspiration in packing lists online – pack for a festival!

Dear parents. In recent years we've received many questions from parents who are perhaps sending their child off to their very first festival, or a bigger festival than they've been to before. So here are answers to the most common questions from parents over the years.

Accommodation: Most people sleep in tents they bring themselves. At some festivals you can rent equipment on-site. At several festivals there is a volunteer camp which tends to be quieter at night. It's up to the volunteer whether they want to stay there or with the other guests.

Working hours: How much volunteers work depends on the specific festival – see above. We naturally follow all applicable rules on rest periods, and volunteers under 18 may not work between midnight and 6am.

Information: All volunteers have a profile at volunteer.getvolt.dk where we continuously post updates and information. Shift packages are also booked there.

Supervision: We don't supervise the areas where volunteers stay or monitor them when they're off shift. We are experienced festival-goers ourselves, and if anyone needs help they can always call our volunteer phone line. We do what we can to make sure everyone has a great experience. We know it can be tough at a festival – especially the first time! In all camping areas there are always wardens and social workers in vests who can help if needed.

Medical help: There are always skilled first aiders ready to help if something goes wrong. We cannot force anyone to see a first aider, but we strongly encourage it if a volunteer calls us and is unsure. Emergency contact details are collected during registration, and we will call you if something happens.
